GAME: Tchoukball TYPE: Invasion/Territorial
CYCLE: III ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate-High
TACTICS: Strategic play, teamwork, thinking ahead, passing, throwing, etc.
QEP: Recovering and receiving the object, using space available, throwing an object, etc.
DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Class is divided into two teams with a ball and a rebound net. Students practice passing to each other, throwing the ball into the net from outside neutral zone, and attempting to catch the rebound. Players cannot locomote with the ball and must complete three successful passes before taking a shot at the net.
Layer 2: Divide the previous two teams into new teams of five-six players (blue vs red) and divide playing surface into two halves (one net for two teams on one half court). Offensive team’s objective is to pass one to three times to their team mates and throw the ball at the net in order for the rebounded ball to touch the ground. Defensive team’s objective is to catch the rebound before it hits the ground. Defence cannot interfere with the offensive play and must only focus on the rebound. If offensive team scores, the ball is given to the defence; offence become defence and defence becomes offence. A point is only conceded if the ball hits the ground after the rebound. Walls are considered part of playing surface.
Layer 3: Students play using the full court with two rebound nets. Both nets are fair game (no directionality). Walls are considered out of play; if ball goes out of bounds, ball is given to other team. Students can take 3 steps.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Three teams on one net.
- Add multiple rebound nets.
- Make neutral zone bigger.
SAFETY:
- Pay attention to rebound ball.
- No contact on offence.
