GAME: Knots TYPE: Cooperative/Team Building
CYCLE: I, II ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low

DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Students are placed in groups of 4-5 and are given a pinny each. Students hand over one end of their pinny to another team member until each student has a pinny in both hands. The objective is for the students to untangle themselves by rotating and twisting out of the knot. In order to be successfully out of the knot, students will be in a circle formation and have the pinnies between partners.
Layer 2: Students are given 2-3 blindfolds. Students designate which students are blindfolded and which are not. Seeing students are not allowed to touch blindfolded students and must therefore give oral directions to blindfolded students. After the knot has been undone, students switch roles until everyone has had a turn.
Layer 3: All students have blindfolds on and must untangle the knot.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Larger group of students in the knot.
- Team versus team tournament
- Some people can talk while others cannot.
SAFETY:
- Do not force when arms are twisted.
- Blindfolded students need clear communication
