DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Students are placed in groups of 4-5 and placed at a station. At each station, there is a set of instructions and any needed equipment that must be used in order to perform a specific task. One student is designated the group leader for that station. The leader reads the instructions and must make sure that everyone comprehends the task at hand. The teacher may drop by unannounced, ask the team a question relating to the task and everyone is supposed to be able to answer. The team is given 5-8 minutes to complete or attempt the activity before the teacher says “NEW STATION”. As students change station, a new leader is designated.
*Tasks include: Blindfold puzzle, Cross the River, Move the Earth, Nuclear Containment, etc
MODIFICATIONS:
- Students must run a lap of gymnasium before going to next station.
- More or fewer stations
SAFETY:
- Follow directions carefully
- Use of equipment properly and cautiously
