DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Students are divided into two teams; one team must score at one end while the other must score at the other end. The playing surface has two benches (placed on their side) on each end which students must score by using their feet (soccer style). Students must dribble, pass and shoot the ball onto the bench in order to score. If a student traps the ball, defence is not allowed to steal ball and must take at least two steps back. Bench scores one point.
Layer 2: Once ball is lifted into the air, students are allowed to use their hands. They can now either pass to other players by throwing it to them, or drop it back on the ground to use their feet. If the ball touches the ground, players must switch back to their feet. To pop it up, they can use their feet and toss it into their hands, or grab it off a kick. Students are not allowed to locomote when they have ball in their hands. In order to score, students must toss the ball into one of the upside down hockey nets that are designated for their side (two nets per side). Net scores two points.
Layer 3: Students may now score in the basketball net. They can only take a shot from outside the key area. Basket scores three points.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Nets placed closer to wall, benches have different angles/positions.
- 3 steps with the ball.
- Free to take shot at basket from anywhere.
- Must complete # of passes before scoring.
SAFETY:
- Use semi-deflated ball.
- Two steps back from offence.
- Beware of the apparatus on the playing surface.
