GAME: Mirror TYPE: Foundational Movement
CYCLE: I, II ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-Moderate

QEP: Non-locomotor and locomotor skills, object manipulation, flow in performance, coordination, etc.
DESCRIPTION
Layer 1: Students are paired up and find their own space. Students must face each other and are not allowed to locomote. One student is designated as the mirror and the other student is the mirror image. As the mirror moves, the mirror image is supposed to mimic and copy the movements that the mirror student makes. Students switch roles.
Layer 2: Implement a ball. Mirrors have the ball and move it around. The mirror image must do the same but without a ball and pretend as if there was one. Students switch roles and the ball is passed to the other.
Layer 3: Students are allowed to locomote. Students must be aware of the other groups moving and must remember to constantly face their partner. Students practice ways of locomotion and ball manipulation at the same time.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Different objects can be used to mirror.
- Two mirrors and two mirror images are partnered up.
SAFETY:
- The ball cannot be thrown and must stay in mirror’s hands.
- When locomoting, be aware of other students.
